Frequently asked questions
Why does the app need my location?
Prayer times and the direction of the Qibla depend on exactly where you are. With your permission, the app reads your device's location and sends the coordinates to the AlAdhan API to calculate that day's times — or you can place a pin on the map yourself instead of granting location access. See the Privacy Policy for the full details.
Prayer times look wrong for my area
Double-check the calculation method in Settings — different methods (MWL, ISNA, Egypt, Makkah, etc.) can shift times by several minutes. If your location was set automatically, try confirming it's accurate, or set it manually from the location picker. If times still look off, email us your city, calculation method, and what you're seeing.
Notifications aren't showing up
Check that notifications are allowed for Prayer Times in iOS Settings, and that each prayer reminder is switched on inside the app. Low Power Mode and background app restrictions can also delay reminders that are scheduled ahead of time.
The home screen widget looks frozen or shows the wrong time
Widgets refresh on a schedule set by iOS, not instantly. Removing and re-adding the widget, or opening the app once, forces it to refresh with the latest data.
How do I reset my prayer streak or clear my data?
Everything — your streak, saved location, and settings — lives only on your device. Uninstalling the app clears all of it, since there's no account or server copy to reset separately.
I found a bug or have a feature request
We'd like to hear it. Email a description of what happened (and a screenshot or screen recording if it's visual) so we can reproduce and fix it.
